It is very common to have an injury or problem with an ankle. The issue with sprained ankles is they can be misdiagnosed from a multitude of angles. Even a doctor or ortho might fail to see the problem. The first thing you should do is rest it. This allows blood to circulate throughout the ankle and so you can heal quicker. The second thing you should do is take a warm shower. This helps the blood flow to the ankle and is a great way to alleviate pain.

I think people often go overboard with the hot water and let the hot water dry them out. But in just a few minutes the pain should be gone, so if you haven’t had the surgery yet then you can wait a few more days for your doctor to see you.

I know that taking a warm shower with hot water and a warm pad can definitely help relieve pain, but I think it’s also important to take care of the injury as soon as possible and so make sure you take the proper care of it. In the future, I’d like to see sprained ankles have the same treatments as car crashes and other accidents.
