The key to the game is finding the right icon. It’s not like in-game purchases or any of the other many subscription services. It’s like buying a theme park at the park. You know, like Disneyland. You can only play it for a day or two. After that, you need to buy a pass to keep playing.
If you need a way to keep a game going, the Star Wars Online Titles and Battles mode could be the way to go. The game is free to play and you can play it for as long as you want. A lot of people like to play it a lot longer than that. There’s even an “all-time” mode. That one lets you play for thousands of hours and get progressively better gear.
